Hudson Taylor is known as China’s foremost protestant missionary. He was known for his radical and unconventional methods. He was the first to dress in native Chinese clothing in order to relate more to Chinese people. While we would not necessarily agree with everything Taylor teaches, his life was a shining example of radical evangelism.
In a letter to his missionary organization in London, he wrote:

“China is not to be won for Christ by quiet, ease-loving men and women … The stamp of men and women we need is such as will put Jesus, China, [and] souls first and foremost in everything and at every time—even life itself must be secondary.”
